Back in the saddle

Today is day one of my blog a day for a month. It's been a long, long time since I've posted and it's not for lack of enthusiasm as much as it is the result of my poor time management skills.  Investigating the root of that issue is a task for another day.  Procrastinate much? Why yes.  Time is better spent making good food and sipping fine wine - or a cocktail... or two.
Today I turn the tables a bit on my usual habits and visit the classic Negroni.
I am historically not a gin drinker. I believe it goes back to my early cocktail days when I first met the Stoli dirty martini and was immediately devoted to my new lover, vodka. Shortly after I was cruelly tricked into a foul impersonation where Gordon's played a starring role with an over abundant appearance of cheap vermouth.
The cocktail revolution has brought the classics such as the Negroni as well as inspired many new gin concoctions i will enjoy exploring.
See you tomorrow
P.s don't give me crap for using Bombay for this drink. I will be adding Hendricks to the bars shortly as well as exploring some small batch suppliers.
Negroni:
1 oz Campari
1 oz Gin
1 oz Sweet Vermouth (Carpano or Dolin recommended)

Pour over ice and stir, orange twist optional
